Abstract
The article examines the distinctive features of the region, territorial imbalances in the economic development of the country, which are confirmed by certain economic reasons that determine the depression of the region. The creation of a stable society and a rapidly growing national economy is impossible without eliminating inequalities in the region and preventing crises. Depressed areas are areas that developed in the past but have now lost their economic importance and comparative advantage.
