Business scaling strategies: integrating artificial intelligence into project management for sustainable growth

https://doi.org/10.24182/2073-9885-2026-19-3-11-22

Abstract

The article examines strategies for scaling the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in project management within entrepreneurial organizations. The article highlights four interrelated strategies: aligning AI initiatives with business goals and applying a portfolio approach to projects, gradual implementation through pilot projects and «quick wins», transformation of competencies and building a robust data and predictive analytics strategy. The paper shows that aligning AI projects with strategic priorities and managing them as a portfolio helps organizations move from fragmented experiments to systematic AI deployment. Step–by–step implementation via pilots reduces risks, delivers rapid demonstrable results, and builds trust in AI among managers and end–users. Special attention is paid to the role of an integrated data environment and predictive analytics in improving schedule accuracy, risk assessment, and resource allocation in project management. The article argues that combining these four strategies forms a coherent framework in which AI becomes a sustainable tool for enhancing project performance and supporting the long term growth of businesses in the digital economy.
